Larrivee DV-03RE, The all solid Indian Rosewood Dreadnought Cut-away (Special Edition) of Larrivee acoustic guitar with upgraded Larrivee brand hard-case. Solid Sitka Spruce top, upgraded herringbone rosette, single piece South American Mahogany neck, neck white binding, mapple body binding & Larrivee chrome head-machines (see the pictures). This special edition model will set you apart from the crowd as normally only the L-body made with cut-away version (the LV) BUT we know our market that some of us can’t live without Dreadnought cutaway, our say : get the DV-03RE. It comes with the latest Shadow Nanoflex (pentented) pickup with a tiny & super light weight built remote volume/tone controller neatly mounted behind the sound-hole. The pre-amp unit is mounted directly after female jack, hence suppressing any noise but delivers the natural acoustic tones as it is.

The D-03RE offers the same quality like D-03R which are richer harmonics of sound, balance and loud acoustic guitar makes this model one of the very famous Larrivee model for serious guitar players. There are clear differences between the rosewood and the mahogay models which you may be able to justify for its price tag, it is the starting model of 'a serious ones', available for testing at Luthier Guitar Centre all outlets.

 

Step into the Larrivee line with the -03 series model. Manufactured in Larrivee Vancouver plant, these guitars have many features in common with our higher end models. The -03 series is constructed of all solid wood: Sitka spruce sound-board, single piece mahogany neck, ebony fretboard and bridge. As with all Larrivee guitars, the -03 neck is fit in the traditional dove-tail method, and features an adjustable steel trust rod. The -03 series also features Graphtec TUSQ nut, saddle, and bridge pins for superior tone, synthetic tortoise-shell pickguard and 18:1 chrome tuners (please check the pictures). Each -03 has luxurious and durable satin finish.

Mr. Jean Larrivee is a well known seasoned luthier and a stockiest of beautifull tone woods such as Rosewood, he carefully select only best piece of tone woods for his guitars.

We recommend you to restring it with Cleartone Phosphor Bronze, the thinnest coated strings which deliver richer & bigger volume to your guitars. About the Shadow Nanoflex pick-up & integrated pre-amp.

Nanoflex (NFX) is a name derived from the unit of measurement prefix “nano” and the word “flexible.” The name is quite fitting, since all the high-definition pickups of the NFX family are extremely thin and possess a great degree of flexibility. As a result, they conform closely to the surface of the instrument.

The Structure and Sound of Nanoflex Pickups : The Nanoflex pickup’s sensor consists of seven flexible layers of carefully selected materials. With extreme precision, these special strata pick up the pressure of the nut, which conveys string vibration, while simultaneously sensing the vibratory movements of the guitar’s surface as well.

 

The DV-03RE traits
The drednought shape is the most popular acoustic guitar among others, lower bout is 40.2 CM, upper bout is 30 CM, body thickness = 12.2 CM.
With this size & the symmetrical bracing Larrivee dreadnought guitar, it delivers full harmonic of sound almost equally well from low to higher pitches. About the DV-03RE strings
When open from the box, the factory had stringed it with D'Addario EXP16 as the standard strings. However, option are available especially if you want to try it with the Cleartone Phosphor Bronze Light gauge or the Bluegrass gauge. Cleartone has the thinnest coated strings which deliver richer & bigger volume to your guitars.
