LARRIVEE PARLOR DEBUT IN ISS (with zero gravity) SINCE 2002

The standard Larrivee Parlor guitar was the chosen guitar by the International Space-Station team of USA and another identical parlor guitar is being kept inside the Florida Space centre, USA. Since then, it has been in the space for austronauts who plays the guitar for multi purposes, fun & understand the non-gravity impact on guitar playing style ! Yes, it is, they said music is important in the deep space as much as on earth. While it has been 11 years doing good, it is orbiting earth for more than 50,000 times. This is one of a kind parlor guitar, the P-01 Larrivee guitar.

 

About Larrivee Parlor Custom Shop model

In 2013, we reserved some quality Peruvian Walnut materials for the making of 03 Custom Shop series. This is the first time we launched some affordable custom shop of Oxnard USA with higher quality standard. We are finding good response from our clientele. The Larrivee line with the -03 custom shop series featuring the exotic Peruvian Walnut, Sitka Spruce, JCL head inlays with ratio = 18:1 deluxe quality tuners (instead of the standard Larrivee head inlays), 12-frets Abalone Inlays, cow bone nut & saddle, low action set up and enhanced guitar's projection & sound. Manufactured in Larrivee Oxnard, CA USA workshop. The -03 custom shop series is constructed of all solid woods, single piece mahogany neck, ebony fretboard and bridge. As with all our guitars, the -03 neck is fit in the traditional dove-tail method, and features an adjustable steel trust rod. Each -03 has luxurious and durable satin finish.

About Peruvian Walnut

Peruvian Walnut's latin (scientific) name is Juglans Australis, Juglans Neotropica with distribution commonly obtained in Southern Mexico, Southern & Central America. The Peruvian Walnut is considered as exotic woods eventhough they are not listed in the CITES Appendices, but a number of tropical species in the Juglans genus are on the IUCN Red List. The most notable species, Juglans neotropica, is listed as endangered due to a population reduction of over 50% in the past three generations

Heartwood tends to be darker than temperate walnut species, with a deep chocolate brown color, sometimes with a purplish hue. May also contain streaks of lighter-colored wood mixed throughout the heartwood

Peruvian Walnut is more expensive than domestic species of Walnut, though it still tends to be moderately priced for an imported lumber. Expect prices to be similar to other mid-range South American imports.
