Vintage Paul Brett’s Viator Travel Guitar Signature model
Paul Brett (Guitarist/Composer/Producer/Journalist/Vintage Guitars for sale/Video Maker/12 string/blues/jazz/folk/Guitar Museum owner)
"Following on from my successful Paul Brett six and 12-string guitars by Vintage, I am proud to present the new Viator travel guitar. This guitar will suit both beginners and professionals who want to have a great sounding and affordable guitar that they can fit into small spaces for travelling convenience. My inspiration for this guitar came from the early 20th century style of guitars and the sound the Viator produces both in fingerstyle and strumming modes is very much reminiscent of that era. I have tried most styles on it, from blues, jazz, plectrum and picking through to classical, folk and open tunings – and yes, with lighter strings on it will play beautifully in Terz tuning. Vintage, again, have done a fantastic job in reproducing my design and I can't wait for it to spread its wings and travel afar. The 'Viator' is one little packet of dynamite!”
- Paul Brett.

SEE THE VIDEO OF PAUL BRETT PLAYING VINTAGE VIATOR VTR800PB TRAVEL GUITARThe specs are a culmination of Paul's expertise in vintage guitars, and his signature models are intended to sound like those classic instruments of the 1920s and 1930s. Ideal for blues, jazz, folk, fingerstyle, rock, or almost any other style you care to throw at them, they play and feel authentic and modern, with a huge and exuberant, classic tone. “I had the privilege of being involved in the design process for these guitars. I wanted to recreate the sound of an early 12-string that so many guitarists seek for blues playing. Now I've got the finished product, I'm amazed that you can replicate most 6-string styles on the 12-string with ease, which has to be a bonus and... the sound is like a cannon!”
– Paul Brett

Acoustic Magazine Nov. 2013 Review by David Mead :
Sound Quality : “the actual sound of the Viator is hard to categorise. It’s certainly a lot sweeter and more rounded than I was expecting. I guess it would be fair to say that it has the tonal qualities that fall squarely between a mandolin and a banjo – with quite a surprising amount of volume thrown in for good measure. I’ve played plenty of travel guitars where the tone is lifeless and thin, but that’s certainly not the case here.”
Verdict : “a travel guitar with impeccable build qualities and a great sound”
Overall : “a great little travelling companion, with a very musical voice and some serious good looks!”

Guitarist Magazine UK, April 2014, page 133 Review by MT :
Verdict : “there are plenty of travel guitars out there, but the Viator is a unique take on the genre, adding old-world charm and aesthetic to what might otherwise just be downsizing for the sake of it. Paul Brett and Vintage have their priorities right, fun is the main word, but if you’re of a certain situation and need a few more reasons, how about : I am buying it for the kids to learn on ? Got to be worth a shot, surely ?”
Overall : “And endearing travel guitar offering a completely different vibe from the big American-name options”.
Rating : 4 stars out of 5
