40 Mahogany Legacy Series, model OMV-40

The revolutionary new OMV -40 model features our "Scalloped Parabolic Hybrid" bracing system design in Cutaway Mahogany body. All solid wood guitar, selected sitka spruce top, Mahogany back & side, ebony bridge, fretboard & head plate, bone saddle, nut & bridge pins are in standard features.

The Legacy series have common powerful & extra headroom resonance spaces due to light top design, in addition the Mahogany Legacy due to its mahogany’ tone wood quality inherited the warm & subtle mellow tones making it a suitable as strumming guitar. The OM smaller size guitar is capable to deliver roomy punchy bass like the larger size dreadnought. The OMV-40 Cutaway allows you to have great & easier access on high frets positions and it received great review rating from the Acoustic Guitar 2014 Feb 12 edition.

Based on our tried and true "X-Brace" design, Jean blended a non-symmetrical scalloped lateral cross-bracing pattern after 48 years in guitar making. This means maximum strength using the least amount of material. It's a build that allows even further vibration of the soundboard, while still offering a controlled bass response. The 40 Series are built in America using all solid wood, like all Larrivée's, and feature brand new upgrades like bone bridge pins, nut and saddle, diamond fingerboard dots and 18:1 open back tuners. Jean's exciting new design means a fresh new sound that is sure to appeal to traditional and long-time Larrivée players alike.

 

Every Larrivée is built using all solid wood. No plys or laminates are ever used.
We take the time to source all our own material, hand selecting our wood ensures we only use the best of the best. The search takes us from the humid jungles of West India to the spectacular rainforests of British Columbia. The wood then arrives at the factory, ready for our curing combination of air dry and kiln drying. Some of it will age for up to a decade to achieve optimum tonal properties.
